How Much is Visa Worth?

How many of us wished we had bought Mastercard Inc. (NYSE:MA) at its IPO and now sitting on a 5x or 6x gain? Many people missed that train and are now jumping into Visa Inc. (NYSE: V) since its IPO in March this year (2008). Well, a lot of us may also realize that we may not see similar gain in Visa share prices because its IPO price was already expensive. The Wealthmonkeys bought Visa at $58-59 on the first day of its IPO. As we wrote this article today, Visa closed at above $68. That is around 17% gain within 3 weeks. Not bad, huh?
